Important Note
After my teachings from the Kogi Tribe of Colombia I have a new respect for everything we take from our Mother earth and this includes crystals. Crystals have a life force; they are spirits of our Mother Earth and must be honored as such. Never buy a crystal to just sit on a shelf to look pretty, buy it with the intent of building a healing relationship with it and if giving it to a loved one pass on the crystals meaning. These precious stones have been given to us by earth, sometimes through harsh conditions yet they are still happy to help us – they give unconditionally, let’s give them back that same love and respect. I know that when I develop a deep relationship to my crystals they become empowered and allow me access to deeper meaning and healing. It’s a beautiful relationship if you are open to it!
It’s also important to mention that more than one shaman has told me the most powerful healing elements are found in our backyard. The energies where you live hold a special power for you specifically so walk around, even if in a city, and ask the earth to give you a crystal / stone and it will! Sometimes you need to be patient but it will come to you if you ask with love and gratitude.
Why we use crystals in our products
Crystals help to increase the therapeutic value of the oil. They generate positive energy that will help bring you more happiness and we program each crystal to empower the intent of each product. Its vibration also helps to keep the oil and its energetic treatments fresh. As mentioned above all crystals used in our products are given much love, gratitude and respect before we even begin to program them for the healing oil blends.
What is crystal energy?
The essence of our bodies is energy. Crystals function as transformers of various energies into biological energies that re-balance and re-energize your biological system on the cellular level and on emotional, mental and spiritual levels as well. They have a life force, a spirit, so each crystal is cable of non-phycial communication with you.
How do crystals heal?
Thoughts are energy, and they are magnetic in form. Crystals can receive and hold these thought forms. Infusing a crystal with thought energy is called programming. Information or commands are stored in the molecular structure of the quartz crystal as magnetically charged data. These crystals can then be used to transfer positive thought or energy to another individual. Liquid can conduct crystal energy; thus, adding them to oils, water or anything liquid can deliver the energy the crystals have been programmed to transmit.
What to look for when buying a crystal.
You will more than likely be drawn to the crystal you need, it will feel warm in your hands or in your energy field. Ask the crystal if it wants to come with you, if it is meant to be yours…ask this and take a moment of silence and in this quiet you will allow space for the answer to come to you. To me this is the most important rule in buying any kind of crystal, but if you do have choices there are a few things to look for. Any kind of rainbow reflection is amazing to have in your crystal because the rainbow brings light to where there was darkness. I’ve found winged shapes that are magical and sometimes you will see a geometric shape that some believe holds encoded information. Just remember that what might look like a flaw might really be a beautiful surprise.
Every room should have crystals. You can display larger ones and clump smaller ones together. I read that clumping them together was better for the energy of the room. I do both, because that feels right to me. You have to arrange them so that it’s right for you. It’s been said that having too many crystals can interfere with electrical things and I can tell you that I mysteriously seem to have more technical problems than anyone I know. My tech friends come over and find no real explanation, so I attribute it to the crystals. It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s also a great confirmation of their power. Remember it’s important to connect with your crystals – talk to them, hold them, and cleanse them. The more of a connection you have with them, the better they can serve you. Crystal programming
Program any crystal with your thoughts and it will “hold” your intention until you re-program or recharge it.
- Hold the crystal in one hand and hold your other hand over the crystal.
- Say out loud or to yourself, “I cleanse and purify this crystal with the love and light of the universe and I program it to…then state your intention.” Say this three times. Your crystal is now programmed with your intention.
- To recharge or change the intention, run the crystal under water and repeat the steps above. Leaving your crystal in sunlight will also recharge its energy.
Cleansing your crystal
As a general rule, you should cleanse and recharge your crystals once a season but also consider other factors. You may, however, cleanse them more often in certain circumstances. For instance, if your intuition tells you it needs cleansing; or if someone else touched your crystal and you think your crystal picked up any negativity; maybe you were in a really bad mood and transferred that energy or maybe you were in a really negative environment. You’ll know when it’s the right time. There isn’t one way to cleanse and recharge your crystal but here are some options:
- Run your crystal under cold water while repeating three times, “I cleanse and purify this crystal with the love and light of the universe.” This is how I do it most of the time.
- Leave them in the sunlight for a few hours. Actually I like to leave my crystals in the sunlight and moonlight. One spiritual guide I met told me to keep special ones in the window or outside for three solid days, preferably when the moon is waxing into its full state.
- Soak them in Epsom salt. Doing this in the bath is great if you have a lot of crystals because you can get a lot done at once. Plus, I like to cleanse them together because I ask that they work together in harmony to generate positive energy. Sometimes I’ll take crystals into my bath (I always have Epsom salt and baking soda in my baths) so I cleanse them while I cleanse myself plus, it’s a great time to re-program them.
- Sage them.
- Hold your left hand, palms down, over the crystal and make counter-clockwise circles over the crystal and then with your right hand make clockwise circles, plus throw in a few figure-8s for good measure.
The therapeutic benefits of crystals

Bloodstone is green in color with red specks and I find it centering and grounding. It helps to give you a sense of security and has been called the stone of courage. It balances the body and relieves the anxiety of change in such a way that you accept change and turmoil with ease. It helps you to be present and to revitalize your state of mind and your relationships. At the same time, its energy can connect you with your ancestors on a spiritual level. Supports the 1st or base chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Aries, Pisces and Libra.
Carnelian is orange in color and it helps to stimulate joy, creativity, compassion and love. It will clear negativity from other stones, which makes to idea for use in conjunction with other stones. Supports the 2nd or sacral chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Taurus, Cancer ad Leo.
Citrine is yellow in color and sometimes has a milky appearance. It is considered the money stone. It helps to attract wealth and maintain it. It enhances creativity, optimism in the face of conflict and aids in decision-making. It is one of the only stones that does not absorb negativity; instead, it transmutes it, making it naturally cleansing which makes it great for clearing your energy, specifically the chakras and auric field. Hold this stone when you are making important decisions and keep it in your pocket when in business meetings or having any difficult conversation. This is a great stone to have around during any healing sessions because of its clearing. Supports the 3rd or solar-plexus chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Gemini, Aries, Libra and Leo.
Rose quartz is pink in color and is the stone of love energy. It helps to clear negativity, allowing you to love yourself and accept love from others. Its love is gentle and has a calming effect on you and your environment. It can balance your yin/yang energy as well as your emotions. It can also bring harmony and balance to each chakra. The heart and crown are especially responsive to this stone. Leave it at home or take one to work. Try bathing with it and sleeping with it under your pillow and bathe in its loving life-force. I have many shapes and sizes – you can’t have enough of this stone, as far as I’m concerned. Supports the 4th or heart chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Taurus and Libra.
Aquamarine is a wonderful light blue stone that aids communication and reason. It is helpful in connecting your physical and ethereal bodies as well as balancing and aligning the chakras. This ability to keep order is very helpful to the throat chakra because the throat chakra has not only itself to deal with but also holds chambers (and stories) for all the chakras. It encourages you react/respond quickly and it stimulates your intellect. It promotes self-awareness and helps you to be compassionate and non-judgmental. Supports the 5th or throat chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Gemini, Pisces and Aries.
Amethyst is a purple/violet color and it balances your energy and helps connect you to earth and cosmic energy. It transmutes negativity into more positive energy and protects you from psychic attacks. It aids meditation and helps open your third eye. Supports the 6th or 3rd eye chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius and Capricorn.
Clear quartz is a clear color and is a traditional healing stone believed to draw out pain and amplify healing energy. Crystal healers believe that its crystal formation can align the harmonies within the human body. They are perhaps the easiest to programmed and can receive and send energy. It’s like an all-purpose stone and can be used in any way you need it to serve you. My father has special quartz for driving that he keeps in his car, one he meditates with and one he carries with him to business meetings. There are so many different kinds of crystals that have specific therapeutic qualities but you can’t go wrong with basic quartz. Supports the 7th or crown chakra. Aventurine is green and stimulates creativity. It helps to clear, activate and protect the heart chakra. It inspires leadership and balance. Supports the 4th or heart chakra. Associated with the astrological sign of Aries.
Blue agate assists in communication and speech. It can awaken your inherent talents. It is also balancing to all physical and non-physical aspects of your body. I find it very calming and like to keep it near my bed. I also keep it in my pocket when I need to speak in public. It can also help you achieve a deep spiritual state. There are many other kinds of agate, it’s a great stone to learn more about. Supports the 5th or throat chakra. Associated with the astrological sign of Pisces.
Emerald is light green with black or milky bands and is considered the “stone of successful love”. It encourages domestic bliss as well as an internal peace, it brings harmony to all aspects of your life. And, it can help improve your memory. Supports the 4th or heart chakra. Associated with the astrological sign of Taurus, Gemini and Aries.
Green jasper is considered a nurturing stone and will align your chakras, balance yin/yang energy and stabilize your auric field. Encourages global awareness and promotes healing on all levels. 4th or Heart chakra. Associated with the sign of Leo.
Hematite is black or metallic in color and is great for grounding and getting rid of negativity. Supports the 1st or base chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Aries and Aquarius.
Howlite can be found in green, white and blue. It is a super-calming stone and many people use it to releive stress of all kinds. Placed on the third eye, it opens memories of previous lifetimes. Howlite teaches patience. Place a howlite stone in your pocket to absorb your own anger – or another’s anger that is directed toward you. It helps to overcome critical or selfish behaviour. Relieves insomnia, balances calcium levels, strengthens teeth and bones.
Kunzite is a beautiful pink stone that activates the heart chakra. It encourages loving thoughts and communication and gives you a general feeling of peace. It dissolves negativity and clears away obstacles. It stimulates creativity and centers you for deep meditation. I use this stone to help me through emotionally difficult times and when I need to maintain my sense of calm within chaos. I also like to keep it in my pocket or at hand when I am doing any healing work. Supports the 4th or heart chakra. Associated with the astrological signs of Scorpio, Taurus and Leo.
Labradorite is a stunning a rainbow on a darker surface. It Helps to strengthen the auric field. Repairs leaks and tears in the auric field. Brings light into your life. helps you connect with your higher source helping you find your sense of purpose.
Moldavite is dark green in color and is considered to be of extraterrestrial origin and here to serve us by encouraging ascension. It helps you to “see” clearly and stimulates the third eye. It’s good to carry around during the day because it can help you see and receive the messages you need to. I was instantly attracted to this stone when I saw it at a gem show. I keep it by my bed and I like to travel with it. Associated to all the astrological signs but strongest in Scorpio.
Moonstone is a white, pearly stone that can vary in hue. It is balancing, reflective and helps to stimulate your intuition by enhancing perceptions. It is said to be a great stone for recognizing your destiny and it attracts the universal energies you need. It encourages a connection between your physical, emotional and intellectual bodies, which encourages the clearance of emotional blockages that get in the way of your being your ideal self. It will cleanse the chakras of negativity and can help revitalize your energy. The 7th or crown chakra. Associated with the signs of Cancer, Libra and Scorpio.
Rutilated quartz is milky in color with needle-like inclusions that look like gold rods running through it. It is considered the manifestation stone. It magnifies the power of a regular, clear quartz crystal. It helps you get to the root of any problem. It can be useful in astral travel by helping you to understand why you are viewing certain scenes. Supports the 7th or crown chakra. Can be associated to all astrological signs.
Selinite crystal is a milky white wand-like crystal. It helps digestion. Helps your body feel clear of “yuckiness”. Helps to unblock frozen and irregular energies – a must for any healing practioner. It clears the energy of all other crystals. It transforms energy – it does not hold onto any bad energy so it does not need to be cleaned. Keep out of water.
Sodalite is blue with white patches and assists in getting to the truth of your emotions. It aids logical thinking and helps to clear mental confusion. It promotes fellowship and companionship. Supports the 5th or throat chakra. Associated with the sign of Sagittarius.
Smoky quartz is clear and light gray in color and helps with the manifestation of your intentions. It keeps negativity away and encourages clarity. It can help clear physical obstacles while helping to connect you with energies from other realms. It generates peace and is grounding. Supports the 1st or base chakra and 7th or crown chakra. Associated with all the astrological signs.
Tiger’s Eye is yellow with blackish bands in color and helps to keep negativity and fear away. It is grounding yet activates intuition. It promotes a sense of inner calm. It also is believed to put you in vibration with wealth. Supports the 2nd or sacral chakra. Associated with the astrological sign of Capricorn.
Tourmaline comes in a wide variety of colors. Most commonly and my favorites are pink and green. All the colors help to clear and balance the chakras. Tourmaline is in vibration with love and understanding. It can help your self confidence and it attracts healing energy. Can be associated with all the chakras but green and pink are strongest with the 1st or base as well as the 4th or heart chakra. Green is associated with the astrological sign of Capricorn and the color pink with Libra.
Using pendulums
A pendulum is typically a pointed crystal that hangs on a chain from which it sways in various directions depending on the purpose it is being used for.
This can be a forced movement, lets say if you needed a clockwise/counterclockwise movement for the purpose of clearing chakras. It could also move through the use of subtle energy to help you find answers to your questions. With practice the use of a pendulum will become second nature and an invaluable energy tool. Finding your yes and no
If you have questions about anything such as relationships or what to order from a menu you can rely on your pendulum to help guide your actions. Hold the pendulum in one hand so that it hangs at least four inches from your hand. Keeping it still, ask it “what is my yes?” this can be done in your head or out loud. I usually say it once out load and then keep your intent on the question. The pendulum will begin to swing back and forth, side-to-side, clockwise or counter-clockwise – each pendulum has its own energy and that energy interacts with yours, so the movements may vary. Once you get a distinct “yes” movement you find your “no” by repeating the process and asking, “what is my no?”
Clearing and balancing
You can use the pendulum to clear and balance your environment or any part of your body (especially over the chakras). You clear first by moving the pendulum counter-clockwise and then balance by spinning it clockwise. You can also spin any, but specifically the cut glass round ones, in from to your chakras and at the beginning and end of your meridians. Most of the time the pendulum will know what direction is needed and for how long. Take deep breaths and let the process happen.
General clearing
You can spin the pendulum back and forth under your feet, around your toes, fingers and hands, under your arms, under your eyes, over your third eye, at the temples, at the base of the spine and over the pubic bone. These are the main meridian end points and by spinning the crystal over them, you clear any blockages and make sure your energy freely flows in and out.
